Professional Skills for Creative Industries

This short and creative course will suit anyone with an arts, sculpture, or mixed-media interest, who wants to enhance their professional practice by including simple active or interactive elements, such as light, sound or movement, to create and exhibit an artefact incorporating electronic technologies.

As part of a small team, you will:

  • Develop a project around an artistic theme, with technological elements
  • Learn basic electronics to help you produce your project
  • Exhibit your artefact and explain your work.

Individually, you will document your personal journey in developing the project, electronic skills and organising the exhibit.

How will I be assessed?

There will be two parts to the assessment, each worth 50% of the course, as follows:

Group work:

Project presentation at a small course exhibition, explanation of the theme and artefact.

Individual work:

Document of your own work in developing the theme and electronics development skills.
