This course will introduce you to new technologies and ways of telling stories. Using a variety of technologies such as motion-capture, AR and VR you will have an opportunity to experiment and learn about the possibilities for creating different kinds of narrative.
You can be a complete novice or already have some experience with these technologies; all you need is an interest in experimenting and learning. You might, for example, be a designer, a filmmaker, or an artist who is interested in expanding your creative practice to include different ways of interacting with the world in narrative or non-narrative forms. Or, you could be a beginner with an enthusiasm to learn and explore.
This short course offers a blended delivery with classes on campus and online tutorials.
You will create a self-directed project in an area of digital audio-visual practice.
You will be assessed on your project management, research and skills related to your own project. There are no written exams in this course.
This course will help you make better choices about technologies in your chosen area of practice, whether that be heritage studies, museum education, event design, art practice, new media, filmmaking, designer or other forms of storytelling.
You will be able to build on this certificate to take more advanced skills training in the future.
The course will run in March – April 2023 in a blended format, with a mixture of online and on campus classes:
Thursday, 2nd March | 10am – 4pm | on campus
Friday, 3rd March | 10am – 4pm | on campus
